Day 9.

Driving through Texas to Arizona is much, much better than driving from New Orleans to Wichita Falls. It’s close to Amarillo where the color change happens, where it goes from lush greens to yellows and orange-y browns. The contrast with the rich blue sky is stunning.

The highway led through all these tiny Texas towns that looked half abandoned. So many things to take photos of. Abandonment issues, I guess.

As I kept driving, I noticed a bunch of cars pulled over on the side of the highway. And found Cadillac Ranch. Even the Pentacostal youth are into it.

I kept driving to Santa Fe, in search of tacos. Found ’em.

I decided to keep driving up to Spence hot springs, following curvy roads toward ghostly mountains.

BUT the road to the springs was closed because of forest fires, so I started making the trek back toward Santa Fe/Albuquerque. But not before taking some photos on the side of the road. Shout out to the 3 cars that passed as I stood there taking photos of myself.

It’s nice here. So many soft colors.

Today: RELAXING. I’m gonna get my oil changed and book a massage and just walk around Albuquerque a little, eating and taking photos.
