I’M TIRED.
I think I’m detoxing from all the coffee I drank in Minneapolis and I feel like I wouldn’t mind skipping out on Chicago in favor of sleeping all day. So close to home, though. Trying to hold out.
My full day of Minneapolis started with map-drawing over fancy oatmeal.
I wandered through Loring Park to the sculpture garden. Trees were down there too, but it almost felt like they were part of the art installations. Intentional.
I have a fondness for old churches, so a stop at the Basilica was necessary.
I walked into downtown, a man passed by me and asked if I had a boyfriend, I said yes, he said have a good day. Very polite place.
I like the architecture here.
I was sent to seek out Sex World.
I stopped for sushi and walked next to the river for a while.
We wandered over the the falls, and I wondered how many people have just jumped in and died here. Seems easy enough.
Dinner at Hard Times, and I think 26 days of stuff hit me all at once and I’m so tired and it was humid and kill me. Dinner was good, though.
Meow.
I said goodbyes and packed up my stuff and drove toward Chicago. Lots of farms. Lots of hills. Lots of green.
I got in later than I expected, checked into my hostel and decided to get a drink somewhere and go to bed early. But then I ended up at a karaoke bar and people in Chicago sure are friendly. Easily talked to at least 5 people in a hour and I’m already turning back into my east-coast-anti-social self.
I’m on a top bunk and if I don’t fall off the ladder at some point, it will be a miracle.
Today: Wandering Chicago.
